Who we are
Assemble is an outfit-matching app. It keeps a photo record of your wardrobe, suggests outfits from the clothes you own, and can show those outfits worn on a picture of you. This policy explains what we store, why, who processes it, and the controls you have. It applies to the Assemble app and to public look pages at assemble.ink.
What we store
Account details: your name, email address, a username, and — if you sign in with Google — the profile picture Google shares with us. Your password is stored only as a salted hash.
Wardrobe: photos of your clothes and the details you or the AI attach to them (category, colour, season, size, notes, occasions, brand, wear history).
Style profile: pronouns, what clothes you wear, styles, occasions and budget band; if you add them in Preferences, colours you like or avoid and favourite brands.
Optional full-body photos: a head-to-toe photo (and an optional side photo) used as the base for "see it worn" renders.
Optional 3D avatars: up to four full-body photos and the 3D model built from them.
Looks: outfits the AI generated for you, the ones you saved, rendered images, swaps, collections, packing lists and outfit history.
Social: friends, looks you share, votes and comments on shared looks, blocked accounts, support tickets and reports you send.
Purchases: credit purchases, plan changes and refunds as a ledger of credits, with the amount each payment charged. Card details are entered on our payment provider's secure checkout and are never collected or stored by Assemble.
Technical: the device push subscription when you turn notifications on, and basic usage events that help us keep the app working.
How we use it
To run the service: detect items in your photos, build outfits, render looks, build 3D avatars, keep your closet in sync across devices, and show you your own history.
To let you share: a look you share with a friend or through a public link is visible to the people you choose. Public link pages show the outfit image, the names of the pieces and any message you add — never your closet photos.
To notify you: in-app and, if you enable it, device push notifications about friend requests, shared looks, feedback, 3D avatars that finish building, and support replies. Friend and share notifications can be switched off in Settings.
To keep credits honest: every credit spent or added is recorded in your ledger.
To keep the community safe: reports you send about a suggested look or a friend's comment are reviewed by our team. Reported content that breaks our terms is removed, and the account behind it can be suspended.
Your photos and consent
Wardrobe photos are analysed by an AI model only after you have agreed to AI photo analysis at sign-up or in Settings.
Full-body photos and 3D avatars can reveal what you look like and may count as biometric data where you live. We only process them after you tick the matching consent, and you can withdraw that consent at any time in Settings → Privacy, consent and data. Withdrawing consent stops new renders or avatar builds; removing your avatar data deletes the photos, the renders drawn on them and the avatars built from them.
Only upload photos of yourself, or of people who have agreed to it. You are responsible for what you upload.
Photos you upload are processed by the drawing service that detects your pieces and draws your looks. You can delete any of them: a wardrobe photo from the item itself, and your full-body photos, renders and avatars in Settings.
Who processes your data
We use a small number of processors to run Assemble:
Google (Gemini models) receives the photos and text needed to detect items, compose outfits and render looks. We send only what a request needs.
A 3D reconstruction engine receives the full-body photos you submit for an avatar and returns the model. Photos are sent only when you start a build.
Our hosting, database and file-storage providers hold your account, closet and photos in private storage. Photos are served only to signed-in owners and, for shared looks, to the people you share with.
Our payment provider (Stripe) processes card payments, subscriptions and refunds, and receives your email address and billing details for that purpose. It sends your receipts and invoices.
Our email provider sends sign-in codes and support-ticket emails — nothing else.
A push provider delivers device notifications you have turned on.
We do not sell your data and we do not use your photos to train models.
Shopping links
Product pages and "shop the missing piece" links can lead to partner stores. Some of those links are affiliate links: the store may pay us a small commission on a purchase, and this never changes your price. The store's own privacy policy applies from the moment you leave Assemble. Sending store feedback ("Couldn't buy it?") is stored with the product so we can fix broken listings.
How long we keep it
Your data stays for as long as your account exists. Sign-in codes expire after ten minutes and are deleted once used. Deleting an item, a look, an avatar or your avatar data removes the related photos from storage. Deleting your account removes your account row, closet, looks, photos, avatars, ledger, friends, shares, tickets and notifications.
Your controls
Settings → Privacy, consent and data lets you see and change each consent, remove your avatar data, manage blocked accounts and delete your account.
Preferences lets you edit or remove your style profile, colours, brands and full-body photos.
Any look can have its public link turned off; any friend can be removed or blocked.
You can ask for a copy of your data or raise any privacy question from Contact support inside the app.
Children
Assemble is for adults aged 18 and over, and every account confirms this when it is created. We do not knowingly keep accounts for anyone younger, and photos of anyone under 18 must not be uploaded. If you believe a child has created an account or appears in a photo, contact support and we will remove it.
Security
Photos and models are kept in private storage behind signed-in access, passwords are hashed, and sessions are signed. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong password and keep your sign-in code private.
Changes
When this policy changes in a way that matters, the app shows the new date at the top of this page and, for material changes, a notice in the app.
Contact
Open Profile → Contact support in the app. Your message creates a ticket you can follow inside Assemble, and replies also arrive by email.
